    COWEN BIDS TO DRUM UP BUSINESS IN NY: 13th July 2010
    “The focus of all efforts must be the entrepreneur and enterprise,” Taoiseach Mr. Brian Cowen told a breakfast audience of some two dozen people at the New York stock exchange, on July 12th 2010. Over the next five years, the National Pension Reserve Fund (NPRF) and Enterprise Ireland are to provide €250 million for the scheme, which is intended to lure venture capital to Ireland.     BACKGROUND

    When Bernie Rushe left her management position at Dell Computer Corporation in Limerick in 2001, she set about establishing a team of like-minded senior consultants who are passionate about the lean approach to delivering client value, and experienced in six sigma process development. During her time in Dell she had trained with the first cohort of six sigma green belts on site in Limerick in 1998, and subsequently trained to black belt level. Her experience of working with Dell's best practice lean supply chain, together with championing and managing lean and six sigma projects accross that supply chain, left her ideally positioned to bring the lean message to other Irish based organisations.
