    CERTIFIED LEAN LEARNING PROGRAMMES

    The Kaizen facilitator

A kaizen facilitator is a proactive change agent within an organisation. He/she has a positive attitude towards change, good people and persuasion skills, and a knowledge of how to apply a basic range of lean tools to resolve process problems in a short period of time. The kaizen facilitator works as a part-time problem solving team facilitator, lending support to kaizen event leaders during focused problem solving activities, and assisting in embedding lean behaviours within the organisation. We recommend that any organisation striving for lean transformation, certifies 10% to 15% of its staff as kaizen facilitators. The attached kaizen facilitation workshops and certification guidelines provide an overview of the role, the learning effort and the certification criteria. We will be happy to assess your organisation and provide advice on a kaizen facilitation programme, people selection, process problem selection and certification guidelines.

    The Lean Black Belt

The lean black belt is a highly skilled people manager and process problem solver. He/she exhibits the same personal characteristicas as the kaizen facilitator, however he/she is skilled to a higher level in team based problem solving, and is usually works full time as a lean change agent in the organisation.  We recommend that any organisation striving for lean transformation, certifies 1% to 2% of its staff as lean black belts. The attached lean black belt workshops and certification guidelines provide an overview of the role, the learning effort and the certification criteria. We will be happy to assess your organisation and provide advice on a lean learning programme, people selection, process problem selection and certification guidelines.
