  • Six Sigma

"Six Sigma is a management philosophy that attempts to improve customer satisfaction to near perfection."

Making Six Sigma Last, George Eckes

    WHAT IS SIX SIGMA?

Originating in Motorola in the mid 1980's, Six Sigma involves using a combination of programme management, project management and statistical problem solving tools to develop robust customer-centric processes.

    SIX SIGMA PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT

Cordatus offers consulting in six sigma programme design and implementation. We can assist you with answering questions such as:

What is Six Sigma and how does it help to grow business?
Lean or six sigma - which one is best for us? Can we combine both?
How will we structure our six sigma programme to ensure that it's sustainable?
Our employees are likely to think of six sigma as flavour of the month. How do we overcome that?
What type of projects should we select?
What level of training should we engage in?
What return should we expect on our projects?
How do we quantify financial gain on our projects?
Are there reference sites in Ireland we can visit to learn from their success and their mistakes?
What metrics do we choose to indicate success?

Cordatus also provides six sigma champion, green belt and black belt training programmes. Our training is delivered to American Society for Quality (www.asq.org) curriculum standards.

On completion of the green belt certification programme, candidates will be able to lead a cross functional project team using a range of six sigma project management, problem solving and statistical analysis tools, and deliver quantifiable annualised margin growth.

    Black Belt.....
The black belt is a full-time six sigma programme member who is expected to contribute between €250,000 and €1,000,000 to the company's operating profit annually. On completion of the black belt certification programme, candidates will be able to select & prioritise the company's Six Sigma projects, lead a cross functional project team using a range of six sigma tools, and train and mentor green belts.

    CERTIFICATION STANDARDS

Cordatus also offers clients advice on green and black belt certification standards, the certification process, and reward and recognition of teams. Our six sigma applied learning programmes are facilitated using American Society for Quality (www.asq.org) standards. All black belt candidates are advised to sit the ASQ Back Belt examination, which is available to take as a written examination in Ireland.

Please contact us to discuss your organisation's consulting or training needs. We will be happy to give guidance on your proposed six sigma programme, answer any questions you may have, and provide references.
